Runner Interference without Contact?

With 1 out and runners on third base (R3) and first base (R1), the batter grounds to the shortstop. The shortstop quickly throws to the second baseman covering second base for the easy force out of R1. The second baseman turns to throw to first base to attempt to complete an inning-ending double play, but he does not throw because R1 is standing up, about 3-5 feet directly in front of the second baseman, directly in the baseline.

B1 is safe at first base, while R3 scores. Are there any actions required by the umpires?

In the situation below, R1 interfered. While R1 out on the force, the batter is also declared out because of R1's interference. No runs score.
