Unintentionally Detached Equipment

With two outs and runners on second and first base, the batter (B1) hits a chopper up the middle. The pitcher dives off the mound for the ball and his glove unintentionally leaves his hand and hits the batted ball. The shortstop is still able to field the ball and he steps on second base for the force out to end the inning. The offensive coach insists that a batted ball was struck by detached equipment (it clearly was) and there should be a penalty. What do the umpires do now?

Call
In the play below, if the umpire judges that the glove was not thrown intentionally, then there is no penalty (see casebook play 8.3.3b).
