Field Umpire Struck by Thrown Ball

With no outs and a runner at 1st base (R1), the batter (B1) singles to right field. R1 rounds 2nd base and heads to 3rd base. The right fielder fields the single and makes a great throw towards 3rd base which should easily retire R1. However, the throw hits the field umpire and ricochets away. R1 not only makes it safely to 3rd base, but R1 rounds 3rd base and easily scores. The batter goes safely to 2nd base.

The offense likes the results of the play, but the defense objects to the help that the field umpire provided.

What does the umpire do now?
