Appealing to Umpire's Partner?

With an 0-2 count on the batter (B1), the next pitch is outside, B1 checks his swing, and the plate umpire calls the pitch a "ball". The defensive coach asks the plate umpire if he would check with his partner on the check-swing. The plate umpire asks his partner and his partner confirms the call of a ball.

On the next pitch, B1 grounds to the shortstop, and the shortstop's throw is caught by the first baseman as B1 touches first base. B1 is called "safe" on a very very close play at first base. The defensive coach now asks the field umpire if he would check with his partner on the call at first base.

What does the field umpire do now?

Call
The plate umpire may ask for help from a partner on a half-swing that was initially called a "ball". However, decisions involving judgement are final (NF 10-1-4).

In the situation below, the plate umpire properly requested help from his partner on the check-swing. The safe call at first base was a judgment call and the field umpire should not ask for assistance from his partner.
