Hit and Run with Batter's Interference

With no outs and a runner on first base (R1), the hit-and-run appears to be on. However, on the first pitch of the at-bat, the batter (B1) forgets about the hit and run until really late in the process... How late?

The pitch crosses the plate and is caught by the catcher. As the catcher is cocking his arm to thrown, the batter swings, so the catcher double-clutches and then throws. There is no contact between the batter and catcher. The catcher's throw is accurate but just a bit late and R1 is called safe at second base.

Is there any other action required on this play?

Call
The batter shall not interfere with the catcher's throw by making any movement which hinders the catcher's attempt to play on a runner (NF 7-3-5c). While the batter is entitled to an unobstructed attempt to strike the pitch, once the pitch is complete, the catcher is entitled to an unobstructed attempt to retire a runner.

In the situation below, the batter interfered with the catcher's attempt to retire R1. Since R1 was not retired, B1 is out and R1 returns to first base.
