On-Deck Batter Interference?
The batter hits a high fly foul ball near his team's on deck circle (which is occupied by his teammate, B2). B2 realizes that he may get in the way of the catcher's attempt to catch the foul ball, so B2 quickly moves out of the circle -- but then the catcher and B2 unintentionally and accidentally collide. The foul ball lands uncaught.
What do the umpires do now?
Bonus question: The same play as above occurs, but in B2's haste to get out of the way of the catcher's attempt to catch the foul pop-up, B2 leaves his bat on the ground in the on-deck circle. Instead of the catcher and B2 colliding, the catcher trips over B2's bat and the foul pop-up lands uncaught. What do the umpire do in this case?
