Base Coach Interference

With bases loaded and no outs, the pitcher attempts to pick off the runner on third base.
The runner safely returns to the 3rd base, but the pick-off throw skips past both the runner and 3rd baseman. The base coach picks up the live ball and tosses it back to the third baseman. The defensive coach wants a penalty for intentional interference. What is the penalty?

Call
In NF and MLB, the ball is immediate dead ball but no penalty. While this is intentional interference, there is no play being made, so the ball is simply dead. There is a penalty if a coachblatantly, unavoidably, or intentionally hinders a fielder's try to field a fair or catchable batted ball or a thrown ball. NF 3-2-3.
