The baseline:
A. Is a direct line between the bases.
B. Is 3 feet on either side of a direct line between the bases.
C. Is a direct line between the runner and the base that the runner is advancing to.
D. Is a direct line between the runner and the base that the runner is retreating to.
E. Only matters if the runner is being played on by the defense.F. Between 1st base and home, the foul line is also the baseline.
G. Between 3rd base and home, the foul line is also the baseline.
