Batter Interference on Steal of Home

With bases loaded and no outs, the pitch to the batter (B1) is wild and bounces to the backstop, behind B1. The catcher chases the ball to the backstop while the pitcher runs home to cover home plate. The runner from 3rd base (R3) races home. The batter has been taught not to move from the batter's box during steals by base runners, so B1 remains perfectly still in the batter's box. B1 is hit in the back by the catcher's throw towards home plate (where the pitcher was standing awaiting the throw). R3 is safe at home and the other runners advance to their next base.

While remaining motionless may be a good idea while a teammate attempts to steal 2nd base or 3rd base, it is a bad idea for the batter to remain around home plate when there is a play there.

In the play below, the batter interfered with the catcher's attempt to put out R3. With less than two outs, R3 is out. The batter remains at the plate. The other runners should not benefit from the batter's transgressions -- so they return to their bases at the time of the pitch.
