Illegal Gloves

Situation #1: In the top of the 1st inning, the offensive coach complains that the catcher is using a ordinary fielder's mitt behind the plate instead of the traditional catcher's mitt. What is the umpires action?

Call

The glove or mitt worn by the catcher can be any size (NF only, 1-3-6), so the umpire has no actions on this situation.

Situation #2: In the top of the 2nd inning, the defensive coach sends his center fielder out to his position with a first baseman's mitt. He also sends his 1st baseman out to his position with a catcher's mitt. What is the umpire's action?

Call

The gloves worn by every player (except the catcher) are limited to a 14 inch height, a 8 inch width, and a 5.75 inch web. The first baseman's mit likely conforms to this, so it can be worn at any position. The catcher's mitt likely does not meet these measurement, so it can only be worn at the catcher's position. This is for NF only, 1-3-6a-c.
