Illegal Bats

With the bases loaded and two outs, the batter (B1) triples and 3 runs score. As B1 is standing on 3rd base, the catcher picks up the bat and mentions to the plate umpire that the bat looks "different". The plate umpire calls "time", examines the bat, and determines that the bat is labeled BESR but not BBCOR and is illegal. What is the call on B1? Any other actions?

Call
When a batter uses an illegal bat, puts the ball in play with it, and then the bat is discovered before the next pitch -- the defensive coach has the option of taking the results of the play or the penalty (NF 7-4-1a).

In the situation below, the batter used an illegal bat to drive in three runs, so I am pretty sure that the defensive coach will take the penalty (the batter is out) rather than the play. Since the batter did not safely reach first base, no runs score.

With one out and bases empty, B1 gets his 5th hit of the game. B2 wants to use B1's lucky bat, so he picks the bat up off the ground and gets into the batter's box to prepare to hit. At that point, the umpire notices that the bat is "different", examines it, and determines that it is illegal. What do the umpires do now?

Call
In the second situation, B1 is out for his use of the illegal bat (as he was in the first situation). In NF, B2 is out for entering the batter's box with the illegal bat -- double play.
