With no out and runners on second base (R2) and first base (R1), the batter hits a low line-drive to the third baseman. The ball skips into the third baseman's glove, so the umpire signals and verbalizes "no catch, no catch".

 

R1 runs toward second base (since he is forced to advance on the ground-ball by the batter). However, R2 thinks the ball was caught by the third baseman, so R2 dives back into second base. The third baseman throws to second base, where the ball is caught and the base is tagged before R1's arrival. R2 is then tagged (while R2 is laying on the ground with his hand on second base).
