Pitched Ball Ends Out of Play

A: With a runner on second base, and a 2-2 count on the batter, the pitch hits the plate and ricochets out of play. The batter does not swing so the count goes to 3-2, but where is the runner on second placed when the ball goes out of play?

Call
8-3-3d: Each runner get one base (determined from the base occupied at the time of the pitch) if a pitch by the pitcher from his pitching position on the pitching plate goes out of play.

B: With a runner on second, and a 3-2 count on the batter, the pitch hits the plate and ricochets out of play. The batter does not swing so the batter is awarded first base on ball four --- but is the batter awarded an additional base because the ball went out of play on the pitch?  Is the award different if the batter swung at the 3-2 pitch, missed it for strike three, and then the ball went out of play?

Call

8-3-3f: In this case, the batter-runner is awarded first.
