Game Situation: Running Lane Violation

 
With no outs and R3 on 3rd base and R2 on 2nd base, the batter (B1) grounds to the shortstop. The shortstop throws over to 1st base to easily retire B1. After retiring B1, the first baseman throws home to attempt to retire R3 at the home (R3 broke for home when the shortstop threw over to 1st base). The first baseman's throw towards home hits B1, who is running outside of the first base line runner's lane. The ball then bounces out of play.
 
This looks like a clear case of a runner's lane violation. What is the penalty and where do you place R3 and R2?

The running lane only applies when the defense is attempting a put-out at first base (NF 8-4-1g). Unless, in the umpire's judgement, B1 intentionally interfered with the attempt to retire R3 at home -- then play on! In this case, since the ball was thrown out of play, R2 and R3 are awarded two bases from the time of the first baseman's throw -- so both R3 and R2 score. B1 remains out!
