Game Situation: Line Drive Rips off Pitcher's Glove

No outs and a no one on base. The batter line-drives a shot back to the pitcher. The ball rips the glove off the pitcher's hand but the ball stays firmly and completely in the pitcher's glove while the glove sits on the ground. The umpire needs to make a call -- so would you vocalize "that's a catch" or "no-catch"?

Call

Although this may look like a catch, it is not. NF 2-9-1 defines a catch as getting firm secure possession in his hand or glove....and firmly holding it. MLB has the phrase "...complete control of the ball and release is voluntary and intentional". The pitcher's actions do not meet any of the above criteria, so the the umpire should signal and verbalize "no catch".
