Foot on Home Plate During Bunt Attempt

With a runner on third base, the batter (B1) attempts to bunt the first pitch he sees. As he turns his entire body to bunt, he puts one of his feet squarely on home plate, and then pokes his bat at the pitch. He missed the ball, so the umpire correctly calls a strike. The defensive coach wants B1 called out for having one foot on home plate as he attempted to hit the ball. Sound reasonable?

Bonus Question: Is there any penalty if B1 fouled-off that pitch while his foot was on home plate? What if B1 foul-tipped (caught by catcher) the pitch with one foot squarely on home plate?

Call
In NF, if the batter hits the ball (fair or foul) with his foot touching home plate, the ball is dead and the batter is out. In the first question below, since B1 did not hit the pitch, there is no penalty. For the bonus question, since B1 struck the ball, he is out (NF 7-3-2).
